Patient Testimonials

Dr. Chebli’s patients talk about their experiences before and after this life-changing procedure:

I am experiencing what it feels like for someone to find me attractive for the first time!

I don’t have to think about where to sit at a restaurant because I know I will fit in the booth. There is a lot of freedom in not having to have my head consumed with thoughts about my weight and restrictions.

I went to India last month and I was able to climb up a mountain to a special place my fiancé wanted to show me — I wasn’t able to climb one flight of stairs 6 months ago — Let alone a side of a mountain! We sat up there for a couple hours just looking out at the Himalayas and enjoying each other — It was really magical!

I also wanted to say while I was in the hospital, my hair got all knotted up and a very nice nurse’s assistant took the time to brush it out.....that meant a LOT to me.

I am off all my pre-surgery medications for diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol. Hallelujah!

I am able to REALLY participate in and get the most from my exercise program without pain in my knees and back.

Thanks for all the sacrifices you make for your patients! You are loved!

I had a magic moment when I ran across the parking lot one morning to catch the bus…..And I realized after I got on the bus and sat down that I wasn’t the least bit our of breath or winded.....WOW!

I had my surgery June 2006. My surgery went just fine, no complications, but the first night I wasn’t getting enough morphine. My teeth began chattering uncontrollably, I began to panic and cry. The nurse on duty that night, I wish I knew her name, came in, adjusted my morphine pump and gave me a warm hug. I tell you, that kind woman’s hug was just what I needed and I have thought about it often since then.

I am giddy with the thrill of being smaller than I have been in 20 years. Even my dog is losing weight, as I drag her on longer and longer walks!

The surgery is life changing, to be sure. I would like to thank the nurses who took care of me. Their care and compassion at such a scary and vulnerable time is deeply appreciated, even though some patients, myself included, may not be able to express it when we’re there. Thank you Northwest Hospital Nurses!

I was taking ibuprofen every morning when I got up for arthritis in my feet. Sometimes I took a couple more later in the day. On a trip to Italy last spring, I consumed an entire bottle of ibuprofen in two weeks. I had to switch to Tylenol two weeks before surgery. Since my surgery, I have taken nothing, nada, zilch for my arthritis.....The Tylenol I bought before the surgery is just sitting on the shelf by my old bottle of ibuprofen. Thanks!
